Patricia Bordallo Dibildox is a dynamic creative, administrator, educator, and organizer originally from Mexico and now based in Kansas City, MO. Her work is rooted in a deep commitment to community engagement, equitable development, and the intersection of art and advocacy.
Patricia served as the campaign manager for Jenay for KC, a City Council race for Kansas City’s 2nd District At-Large. Over the past three years, she has been an active organizer with KC Tenants, Kansas City’s citywide tenant union, where she worked to build power and advocate for equitable housing through canvassing, policy building, team leadership, and more. In 2022, she was named the Creative Placemaking and Equitable Housing Fellow by Community Housing of Wyandotte County.
Her artistic endeavors are equally impactful. Patricia has received numerous awards, including a Women’s Studio Workshop Micro Grant and a Community-Funded Dye Share from The Color Farm. From 2021 to 2022, she taught workshops on natural dyeing, mending, and sewing at the Kansas City Textile Arts Center. She previously held a studio at The Drugstore for three years, where she was honored with the Gift of Faith Award Residency. In 2019, Patricia secured funding from the Meow Wolf Foundation and the Ford Foundation as co-director of front/space, a collaborative art initiative previously based the Crossroads Arts District.
Patricia’s leadership extends beyond her creative practice. She co-founded and led the Artist of Color Alliance in 2016 and received a Rocket Grant as Senior Editor of Informality Blog, an arts publication. She has served on the Charlotte Street Foundation Programming Committee for Visual Arts for three years and on the advisory board of Rose House Residency for four years, contributing to the development of Kansas City’s vibrant arts community and beyond.
In her personal artistic practice, Patricia specializes in quilting, natural dyeing, and photography, creating work that has been exhibited both nationally and internationally, including in Australia.
